Jane Madison Series Optioned by TwinStar

And now, I get to share my big news…

The Jane Madison series (GIRL’S GUIDE TO WITCHCRAFT, SORCERY AND THE SINGLE GIRL, and the to-be-released-October-1 MAGIC AND THE MODERN GIRL) have been optioned by TwinStar Entertainment, a Hollywood production company!  TwinStar has reserved the rights to make the Jane Madison novels into a feature film, a made-for-TV movie, or a television series.

Those of you familiar with the ways of Hollywood know that we’re still a loooooooong way from anyone actually making the films or TV shows – TwinStar would need to exercise the option that it has reserved and that, alas, rarely happens.  But just for giggles, who would you cast in the lead roles?

Mindy, absolutely thrilled

  1. HUGE congratulations!!!!

  2. What fantastic news! If it’s a movie, I vote for Anne Hathaway as Jane.

  3. Mindy, that is utterly fantastic. I agree; Anne Hathaway all the way!

(Also, ’bout that deleted comment that looked like the one above? I was just talking to my friend *Mandy* and — yeah, that’s what I call a loltypo.)

  4. Excellent. When you decide to do the full-time writer thing, you don’t slack a bit.

  5. I’d have no idea who to cast, but the books would make a very fun film! Congrats!

  12. Woo hoo! I hope they do actually film it.

I agree with the above posters – I think Anne Hathaway would be a good choice. 🙂

  13. In The Movies

    Congrats, Mindy! Uh, don’t hold your breath . . . :^)

How about Jennifer Morrison? I thought she did a great job as Dr. Cameron in House, MD.

  14. That is FANTASTIC, Mindy! It shows that someone in Hollywood actually has good taste!!!!!

  15. Congratulations!

This may sound weird but after seeing her in Dancing With The Stars, I’d almost like to see Sabrina from the Cheetah Girls play Jane.

  16. Rock on! That’s awesome, Mindy. I want Rupert Everett for the snooty English warlock . . .

  17. JANE MADISON or Melissa White: Local DC Actor Caitlin Tiffany Glass,. You should really see her photo at http://wrenchthrowers.com/caitlin.aspx

Neko – Rick Yune or Rami Malek

Jason – How about Justin Timberlake for a name? or Alan Ritchson

    Gran – Barbara Barrie
    Marguerite – Mindy
David – Nathan Fillion (hopeless ploy) but I really cannot remember the age difference between David and jane

  18. I hope you kept some kind of control option, or you might find it made in a way you really really didn’t care for!

  19. Wow – that is GREAT news! Congratulations!

  20. Congrats. That’s great. 🙂

  21. Wow, congrats! As you say, it may never go anywhere but it’s exciting news nonetheless 😀

Jane – hmm, maybe Alicia Witt? Or Sarah Lancaster? Or Emily Deschanel?

  22. Woohoo! Congratulations!

  23. david – or Josh Holloway – I can spin it without being fan girl.

I need to go back an reread the first one in order to give this serious thought….

  24. Oh wow. Congrats!!

  25. Go you!

  26. wow! CONGRATS!!!!

  27. Congrats! I just finished Girl’s Guide to Witchcraft on Thursday, and really enjoyed it–I especially liked how you conveyed Jane’s growth as a person through her experiences. (And I’m trying to figure out how you made me feel that Jason was creepy even though it was never overt. I have to add that to my ‘I wish I could do that’ list.)

    • Thanks for the kind words! (As for the Jason characterization – I truly appreciate your comments; in part, he’s based on an actual jerk that I knew, once upon a time…)
