I first came across it in the school library back in 1975 or so. It was a real treat when I stumbled across a prequel novel, "When the Tripods Came", in a used books store. I don't think John was very well known on this side of the Pond, but he had a lot of talent. First Anne McCaffrey, now John Christopher. I'll miss them both. Yeah, I was really fond of the Tripods trilogy as well. I first came across it in the school library back in 1975 or so.
