Glasswrights Art

Those of you who know me in real life are likely aware of one vital flaw in my creative nature:  I can’t draw to save my life.

I’m serious.

Stick figures tax my ability.  Three dimensions are impossible, beyond the most railroad track heading off to a single vanishing point.  Volume and shading and …

Hey, I love art.  I will go to almost any museum and admire the things on the walls.  (OK, not contemporary stuff, like horses preserved in formaldehyde, or diamond skulls.  But most museums.  And most things.)

And so, I’m always in awe of people who can draw.

That’s one reason that I was thrilled to get an email the other day from Derek Runge.  Derek is an artist who read my Glasswrights Series, and he decided to draw the tattoos worn by the skychildren.  In fact, Derek posted his art on Deviant Art, and he sent me a link to the page.  And he even gave me permission to share the page with you:

I love the Celtic flavor that Derek gave to the lion and the swan.  And I’m especially honored that this is the first fanart I’ve ever received for my writing!

Mindy, amused and hoping to see more from Derek and others!
