Lies, Damn Lies, and Writing Fiction
As I read through yesterday’s Super Secret Project, I found all sorts of tidbits that I’d buried in the story — snatches of personal history and family lore. (Mostly, these are very minor things, like a pet’s name for one character, or a quick memory for another.) A *lot* of my past gets woven into every novel that I write.
And sometimes, those pasts get twisted a bit. Spiced up a bit. Okay, sometimes, I out and out lie. But that’s what makes a good story, right? I muse more about the line between fiction and lies over at Black Ink, White Paper. Check out what I have to say, and leave a comment of your own!
