How to Use a Sell Sheet

Congratulations! You’re about to become a Sell Sheet Star!

What does that mean?

You’re going to help one (or more!) of your favorite authors by completing three easy steps:

  1. Identify bookstores near you. You can search for stores using these tools:
  2. Identify libraries near you. You can search for libraries by typing a city or county name into your favorite search engine and adding the words “public library.” Don’t forget — you can identify school libraries, too!
  3. Share the Bookstore Sell Sheet with your favorite bookstores and the Library Sell Sheet with your favorite libraries. The best way to share is to bring a copy of the sheet (ideally, printed on a color printer) to the bookstore or library. At the bookstore, ask for the person who is in charge of ordering books. At the library, ask for the “acquisitions librarian.” Be ready to explain why you think the book is special and why it belongs in that store or library.
